Our built environment programme including housing, transport, placemaking and much more…
Thames Valley Forum is bringing its built environment programmes together in 2022 and addressing the issues that matter most to the built environment community.
We will continue our place based roundtables and add thematic sessions looking at key issues in property and construction.
In 2022 we will explore topics including:
- Town, city and local areas in greater detail with our series of Leader roundtables
- Commercial Real Estate
- Sustainability (in partnership with our Environment group)
Our leading work in Housing commenced with the October 2020 report which led to a dedicated group which met five times in 2021. The group looked at placemaking, sustainability, Modern Methods of Construction, Planning, and Affordability.
Thames Valley Forum released the report “Shaping the future transport network for the Thames Valley” in March 2021 setting out a vision for a green future transport network which supports the economy and all members of our society. It considers the future network from a national strategic perspective, regional viewpoint between our towns and travel within our towns.
We run a series of town and city focused roundtables with Leaders of Local Authorities and key individuals. Recent sessions include with Cllr David Renard, Leader, Swindon Borough Council, and Bev Hindle, Executive Director, The Oxford-Cambridge Arc Leaders Group
