Environment

Thames Valley Forum are taking our approach of providing strategic and collaborative frameworks with clear activities and action plans to take forward a regional approach to environmental issues.

Thames Valley Forum held a roundtable on the Environment on 24th June chaired by Professor Robert Van de Noort, Vice Chancellor at the University of Reading.

Robert shared the leading work undertaken at the University on a range of key sustainability issues. This was followed by a presentation by Ian Binns of Thames Valley Forum on environmental priorities for the region leading into a discussion about collaboration and best practice. The session was attended by 30 senior leaders from across business, public sector, and not-for-profit bodies.

Robert has kindly agreed to Chair the work on an on-going basis which will now focus on articulating the value of the region’s environmental credentials and a targeted event programme focused on exchanging best practice and sharing information.

The initiative is based on many successful projects in other parts of the country and will see a focus on the areas that matter most to the region, which may include

  • Net Zero
  • Protecting our environment
  • Circular economy
  • Encouraging green tech
